Tori grew up as an arts kid in the suburbs outside of Richmond, Virginia. She is wildly passionate, down to earth, a little geeky, and radiates positivity!
Tori has worked as a Ranger within parks across the United States, including Baxter State Park in Millinocket, Maine. As such, her experience within the Katahdin region is quite extensive.
During her first season with Baxter, she doubled as a Wilderness Educator and Katahdin Ridge Runner. In her later seasons, she served as both a Campground and Roving Ranger. Tori is proficient in backcountry navigation, plant and animal identification, and wilderness medicine.
After attending classes at Maine's Outdoor Learning Center, she successfully obtained her Registered Maine Guide License and switched career paths from Ranger to Guide!
Dance and the study of movement has been a stronghold in Tori's work for 20 years.
In 2017, she graduated from George Mason University with a B.F.A. in Dance. During her university studies, she practiced guided meditation and somatic techniques such as energetic tapping, reiki, therapeutic breathing, yoga, pilates, massage, and Bartenieff fundamentals. In addition, she thoroughly studied the topic of kinesiology through intensive anatomy course work and hands-on physical therapy demonstrations.
Tori has traveled far and wide to study various dance and somatic techniques, including to the country of Thailand. While there, she spent time at a Buddhist monastery to find a deeper connection to the practice of meditation. She then traveled to Chiang Mai, where she practiced Thai massage, Craniosacral therapy, Vinyasa yoga, and Qigong breathing.
Tori became interested in nutritional studies after receiving a diagnosis of a gluten-sensitivity in 2016. Her self-studies in nutrition eventually led her to herbalism. Combining nutrition and herbalism to balance her body has changed her life. She now maintains a low-inflammatory diet that incorporates seasonal eating and has never felt better!
Because she wants to help other individuals heal through the power of nutrition and lifestyle change, Tori is now offering virtual health and wellness coaching sessions.
Prior to leading group excursions and eventually offering travel concierge services, Tori was an adventurous international backpacker - and still is! She has successfully coordinated, and executed, several solo and group trips across the United States, Europe, Central America, and Southeast Asia. She has particular interest in creating custom travel itineraries that blend ecotourism with wellness retreat. Though her specialty is Maine-based trips, she is always excited to extend her services beyond state, and even country, borders!
