Incorporating Yoga into Wilderness Experiences

Yoga Hike + Swim

Blueberry Ledges

Enjoy this moderate, gently inclined hike to Blueberry Ledges - a picturesque swimming spot featuring an expansive rock shoreline and natural water slides! 


We will start the day off by sharing a cup of herbal tea and a light breakfast snack in the shadow of Katahdin. This is our opportunity to introduce ourselves to the others in the group, review the itinerary for our day, and discuss the benefits of practicing wellness in the wilderness.


The hike we embark on next is about 3.2 miles, round-trip. It has relatively even footing with the exception of a couple of gravelly spots. There are a few sections of steeper incline and there is the possibility of walking on wet rock, especially after rain. Please wear proper footwear. 


Once we arrive at the Ledges, and take in the beautiful scenery, we will begin our hour-long gentle yoga stretch class.  The yoga class is concluded by a whole group meditation, so we may honor ourselves, the energy of the Ledges, and the energies of those who've joined us on this sacred, healing trip. 


Shortly after our class, we will indulge in a yummy picnic lunch. We will then have time set aside for swimming, journaling, independent meditation - whatever speaks to you in the moment! 


As our time together comes to a close, we will hike back through the stands of birches, wave goodbye to Katahdin, get into our vehicles, and whisper to ourselves "until next time". 



Things You'll Need:   

  • Comfortable Hiking/ Yoga Attire 
  • Sturdy Hiking Shoes (hiking sandals are okay, flip flops are not)  
  • Day Pack  
  • Yoga Mat


In Your Pack:  

  • Swim Suit
  • Headlamp/ Flashlight 
  • At Least 2 Liters of Water 
  • Extra Snacks 
  • Personal Medications  
  • Baseball Cap
  • Sunglasses & Sunscreen 
  • Notebook & Pencil
  • Bug Spray



*Parking for this trip is off of the Golden Road. This is a private logging road in rough condition. A small 4-door sedan can travel well, so long as the pace is slow. A map to the parking area will be provided shortly after booking is confirmed.
